State Choir Latvija is touring in Italy and France. On 31st of January in Trento and 1st of February in Bolzano state choir Latvija in cooperation with Haydn Orchestra and conductor Arvo Volmera will perform Gabriel Faure Requiem.

On 12 August at 7 pm in Concert Hall GREAT AMBER the festival Liepāja Summer presents the Kurzeme premiere of multimedia symphony Nordic Light by Ēriks Ešenvalds. The symphony will be performed by Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and State Choir Latvija under the baton of Māris Sirmais and with the participation of the composer himself.

Choir LATVIJA will celebrate Pēteris Vasks anniversary

State Choir LATVIJA has received the Latvian Grand Music Award 2015, which is the most significant price of music in Latvia. The ceremony took place at Latvian National Opera, March 1, 2016. The choir was nominated for the title The Staging of the Year for the concert Nordic Light, held in Latvian National Opera on April 27, 2015.

Latvian Radio 3 "Klasika" (103.7 FM) will celebrate its 20th anniversary on the air with a major concert on January 6 at Rigas Great Guild. Several works will have their Latvian premiere. The premiere of the multimedia symphony Nordic Light by Ēriks Ešenvalds

On April 27 at the Latvian National Opera will be world premiere of the multimedia symphony Northern Light by Ēriks Ešenvalds. Participants: State Choir Latvija, Liepaja Sypmhony Amber Sound orchestra and conductor Māris Sirmais.

A New CD with choral music by Ēriks Ešenvalds "At the foot of the sky"

State Choir Latvija has released a new CD with choral music by Ēriks Ešenvald's At the foot of the sky. There are included such works as Northern lights, Seneca's Zodiac, Vineta, Stars, Long Road etc. Uniting thema of these works - stars, constellations, optical phenomena of athmosphere - northern lights, sun dogs.

March for State Choir Latvija will roll by in foreign country tour mark

In the beginning of three weeks long tour State Choir Latvija take the road to Finland, where together with chamber orchestra Kymi Sinfonietta will perform Haydn oratorio The Creation. State Choir Latvija cooperates with Kymi Sinfonietta from 2009, when after orchestra invitation choir first time visited Kotka region and in several concert series together performed Georg Friedrich Händel oratorio Solomon. Concert LONG ROAD nominated for the Great Music Award

Today announced nominants of the Great Music Award, which is the most significat price of music in Latvia.

State Choir Latvija is nominated for the title „The Concert of the Year” for the Ēriks Ešenvalds concert „Long Road”, held in Big Hall of Latvian University October 12, 2012. This was also one of the State Choir Latvija 70th anniversary concerts.

The 15th International Sacred Music Festival

This year it will be already 15th summer when the State Choir Latvija and its artistic director Māris Sirmais invites everyone to the International Sacred Music Festival. In 2012 choir Latvija celebrates its 70th anniversary. The anniversary series will be opened with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Requiem", a composition that Latvija has performed the most – more than 200 times altogether. The 14th International Sacred Music Festival. August 13 - 28

Composer Eriks Esenvalds has been appointed Fellow Commoner in Creative Arts

Trinity College Cambridge has announced the Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds will be joining the College as Fellow Commoner in Creative Arts for two years from October 2011. Ešenvalds was born in 1977 and studied for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in composition at the Music Academy in Riga. Since 2002 he is an artist of State Choir LATVIJA. Lincoln Center has announced its new festival -White Light Festival. It will take place from October 28 - November 18.

State Choir Latvija (Latvian National Choir), conducted by Tonu Kaljuste, will give two performances. November 12, in Choir's U.S. debute, choir will performn F. State Choir Latvija received the Great Music Award for the production of "Joan of Arc at Stake", staged within the 12th International Sacred Music Festival. On 12th of December the male group of the State Choir Latvija will perform Guglielmo Tell by Rossini at Royal Amsterdam Concertgebouw. On March 30, in Jesuit Church State Choir Latvija had a successful debut in world-famous Lucerne Festival. State Choir "Latvija" gives world premiere to Arvo Part's "Deer's Cry"

World première performances will take place in St Peter’s Church of Ireland, Drogheda, on 13 February 2008 and in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dundalk, on 14 February 2008.The première performances are presented under the title Arvo Pärt’s World Premiere: Baltic Voices in Ireland. State Choir "Latvija" participated in a recording for the movie Das Parfum

The Choir would be sincerely glad to be on the stage together with the rest of performers of the recording - Sir Simon Rattle and Berliner Philharmonics, but, for the time being, thanks to modern technologies, there has been a chance to perform together from a distance. The voices of the choir under conductor Kristian Järvi (Estonia) were recorded in the Riga Recording company and added to sound tracks, which were prepared for the movie by artists from Berlin.
